Broken Chick Wing
From: DivEnterprises Greetings Everyone- I just wanted to share what I feel is a small miracle, Praise God!!! It all started yesterday afternoon when my 12 year old came running into the house just sobbing with tears. "Mom, you have to help...it's going to die!!!", she said. As she held out her cupped hands, there sat one of our baby chicks tattered and it's left wing severely broke. It seems this two week old Arakona (sp?) baby chick somehow got out of the enclosed pen and our cat got hold of it. My daughter is the animal/nature lover in the family and she was just heartbroken. Well, acting on my mothering skills, I told her I would do the best I could but I couldn't promise her anything. I had all the kids say some prayers and then I went to my arsenal to get God's medicine. I pondered and pondered, as I usually don't treat animals. The only other experience I had had with the chickens was to put Abundance and Magnify Your Purpose in the coop so they would lay better (which they did), last fall. I actually was fearful for the first time working with my tools. I didn't know what to use, how much so I wouldn't "OD" the poor thing, and oh, that wing...boy did I feel under qualified. Well, to make a long story short, I have become a momma hen in the making, and a hero to my children. This is what I did: Last night while praying for divine intutition I reached for Lavender and mixed it in a grape seed oil base. The poor thing was just shaking with fear. Generously, I applied the mixture to the open wounds along the back of the neck and left wing, slowly it started to relax. Gently, I also tried to reposition the wing back to it's normal locale. The poor thing squawked but I had to trust that I was doing the right thing. I covered its eyes and put Peace and Calming on my work area, as I found it to be less frightened when it couldn't see what was happening. Also, the combination and smell of the oils was now really starting to make it relax. Gradually, it stopped shaking and crying out. Once I got the wing into place, I applied Melrose and the last of my Birch neat along the spine and to the broken wing/wounds. Later I hand feed it some cooked rice and used an eyedropper to give it some water. I talked to the chick as if it were one on my children, I think we bounded. LOL!!! Well, I then filled a small box with shredded newspaper, sprinkled the paper with 2 drops each of Lemongrass and Peppermint. I didn't now what to expect this morning, but to my amazement it was spunky and slightly hopping around, and it even had gone potty. A good sign, so I hear... Furthermore, when I looked at the wounds they are all closed and healing well. The wing position is holding true and the bird can now hold itself somewhat erect in a standing position (yesterday it just kept flopping over). Today I have applied Raven, lemongrass, and Spikenard neat. I am sensing that there may be damage to the windpipe and/or lung tissue because it also has a slight rasp when it breathes, but I believe the Raven will correct any problem from that standpoint. It takes the food and fluids well so neck tissue damage can't be all that severe. I also have feed it less rice today and rather instead have opted to supplement it with a pedalyte, turmeric powder, and Befit mixture for a more balanced diet until it can start feed on it's own again. I will let you all know what comes of this, but as of now momma bird reports that baby is fairing very well. If it survives we will have another pet for sure. This particular breed of chickens lay colored eggs, I keep telling my daughter that this baby is going to have the healthiest and prettiest ones around. I never thought I would see the day that I would be doing vitaflex/RDT on a baby chick, but boy does God have a marvelous sense of humor!!! It's comical watching me do a one finger vitaflex/RDT to this baby but it is making my kids deeper believers as well as new believers out of the neighbors that say my "tools" are just new age snake oils!!!! Isn't God just GRAND!!! I just love how he works!!! Well, folks...I'll keep you all up to date. Until then, be blessed abundantly... Pati |
